Sé que un cementerio no siempre es el primer lugar que viene a la mente cuando sales a dar un paseo. Pero mi perro y yo disfrutamos mucho de nuestros paseos matutinos aquí. Y disfruto tomando fotos de las viejas estatuas y lápidas junto con observar todos los diferentes tipos de árboles. También hay recorridos a pie por los terrenos.I know a cemetery isn’t always the first place that comes to mind when you head outside to go for a walk. But me and my dog really enjoy our morning walks here. And I enjoy taking pictures of the old statues and headstones along with viewing all the different types of trees. There’s also walking tours of the grounds.

Lots of birds and squirrels in the very large and varied trees. Good place to become familiar with the various tree species as well as they are all labeled. No parking lot, but you can park anywhere along the road that meanders through the cemetery.

The headstones and sculptures are beautiful and elegantly weathered. It's a great place to go get lost in time. There are many notable North Carolinians buried here also, so it creates an excellent opportunity for learning about the state's history.

Hundreds of trees and shrubs have been professionally identified and tagged for visitors to learn and enjoy. It is both a visual treat and educational to see the older architecture and monuments. We gathered for a picnic and enjoyed walking around this weekend. One of my favorite trees is the Japanese Crape Myrtle in the Free Ground area.

Y se hicieron algunas mejoras nicE👏.Lovely and historic cemetery. Great place in downtown to walk, take your dog, relax and take in peaceful beauty. It has its own character and charm to it. And some nicE improvements were made👏 .

The history is amazing, and there are stories about this areas history behind so many of the names. There are even graves belonging to the Mendenhall family who were involved in the foundings of Jamestown, Greensboro College, and Guilford College. While strolling through the grounds, I can easily find myself lost in the past.
